The Monster Bookmark Club

The Monster Bookmark Club

Deep inside the dusty shelves of Willowbrook Library, where books whispered secrets to one another, lived a group of tiny monsters. But these weren’t scary monsters—they were bookmark monsters! Each one had a big, friendly grin, wiggly arms, and bright, colorful fur. Their job? To make sure readers never lost their place in a book.

There was Blip, the round and bouncy one who loved adventure stories. Fizzle, with wild tufts of hair, always got tangled in mystery novels. Jib, the tiniest of the bunch, adored fairy tales. And Zog… well, Zog had a habit of munching on the corners of books (just a little nibble!).

Every night, after the library closed, the bookmark monsters would stretch their stubby legs and chat about their favorite stories.

“Oh! The pirate book I was in today had treasure and a kraken! It was so exciting!” Blip said, bouncing up and down.

“I was in a detective novel,” Fizzle declared. “I think I solved the case before the detective did!”

Jib sighed dreamily. “My book had talking animals and a castle in the clouds… I wish I could visit for real.”

Zog licked his lips. “I was in a cookbook… chocolate cake.”

The others groaned. “Zog, you have to stop eating pages!”

One day, a little girl named Emma borrowed a stack of books. She loved to read, but she always forgot where she left off. As she opened her first book, she gasped.

“Monsters!” she whispered, eyes wide.

The little creatures froze. They weren’t supposed to be seen!

But instead of being scared, Emma giggled. “You guys are adorable!”

Slowly, Blip wiggled. Fizzle twitched. Jib waved shyly. And Zog? Zog licked a cookie crumb off his lips and grinned.

From that day on, Emma took extra special care of her bookmark friends. She even made them a cozy box to sleep in when they weren’t helping her read. And every night, when the books were closed and the world was quiet, the bookmark monsters whispered their own stories—about a kind girl who gave them a home.

And maybe, just maybe, they’d found their happily ever after.

The End.
